Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2019 Collection

Fashion is often more formal than fair, but not for designer Diane Von Furstenberg. She and her creative director Nathan Jenden put forth a resort collection that’s all about fairness—fairness in the sense that the pieces will look exactly as how you bought them. Resort clothes are, more often than not, scrunched up in one’s luggage only to be taken out for a day or two. For 2019, Furstenberg’s resort collection consists of clothes that one can literally crumple into a ball and it will still look fine and fresh once you put them on. They’re easy on the eyes as well, like the leaf-printed evening maxi dress and the black and bubblegum pink tailored pantsuit. These pieces were testaments to their skills, but also to their understanding of what their clients want and need.

Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2019 Ready-to-wear Collection – New York

There was something quite quaint about Diane Von Furstenberg’s collection for spring 2019. It wasn’t the usual show-stopping, print-crazy, crystal-encrusted runway extravaganza she’s become known for in the past few years. In a peaceful presentation, she trotted out what might be her simplest collection in recent years. But simple doesn’t mean boring as what her flouncy fuchsia and orange cocktail dress and cow-printed coat proved. The simplicity was in the message her clothes was trying to convey to women: be pioneers of your own adventures. An empowered woman is a chic woman, and no one understands that better than Diane Von Furstenberg.
