Before it became a popular fabric in the early noughties, Nicole and Michael Colovos were already experimenting with denim in various ways. They played with the material to make it look dressier, more elegant and fit for just about any occasion. With their own brand of twists and turns, they were able to make a denim-dominated collection for Resort 2019. This season, the material is cut into tailored suits, chic trench coats, and even a few cocktail dresses. The cream and olive coat, for example, was a particular stand-out and looked extremely sophisticated despite being made out of a utilitarian material. A freeform and flowing cocktail dress was also a wonderful surprise, perfect for a quiet night out with a significant other. Arguably, the best part about all these manipulations was that they were easy to wear and will flatter just about any body size. Such is the magic of denim and the Colovos brand!
