Jean Ann Ford, together with her sister, Jane, were the ones responsible for the launch and early development of the whimsical brand that many of us love today, Benefit Cosmetics. Although it’s been seven years since the sisters full exit from the brand, but their influence in the brand is really undeniable. Their names are etched in the history of the brand, and their association with it is forever. In fact, it was the brand that revealed to the world the sad news that Jean Ann passed away on January 19, 2019 at age 71, after her battle with cancer.
Benefit Cosmetics’ Instagram post included a collection of photos of the always-smiling Jean, adding a heartfelt caption highlighting the contribution of Jean to Benefit and its customers. In the comment section of the same post, Lisa Potter-Dixon, the head makeup artist of the brand also left her sincere message of remembrance to the “unbelievable woman” that was Jean. She ended the message with a note of gratitude for the Jean’s creations of “the best beauty company in the world.”
It was back in 1976 when Jean and Jane co-founded the Benefit Cosmetics, which has truly earned its way to the hearts of many for their fun concepts, whimsical packaging, and overall quality of their products. The sisters handed over the control of the company to LVMH in 1999, but they stayed until 2012, when they finally exited the brand.
