CK One was first introduced in 1994 as a shared fragrance aimed at the 18-24 year old bracket. It was one of the first few to use green tea for its notes, which soon enough became a trend. The highly popular fragrance earned Calvin Klein millions of dollars within the first few days of release, and it became a global bestseller by the following year. Master perfumers Harry Fremont and Alberto Morillas are the noses behind the scent, and have blended pineapple, papaya, mandarin orange, bergamot, lemon, cardamom, nutmeg, jasmine, violet, rose, freesia, musk, oakmoss, sandalwood, amber and green tea to create CK One.
CK One by Calvin Klein Review
CK One was the craze in the early 1990s when it was first launched, but it still retains some of the traits that made it highly popular even more than twenty years later. The scent is fresh and citrusy, and can be worn with little to no effort. It makes summer days feel a tad lighter as well, and with its above average performance, you can return to the scent whenever you need to smell something bright. However, given how many associate this with their teenage years, it does not have a mature enough profile to be suitable for all ages. Still, it can hit you with nostalgia in case you need to bring back the good ol’ days.
Very casual and laid-back, could be applied anytime
Light and fresh enough for summer, would not offend
Wear time is above average
Profile is more ideal for younger users
No longer feels unique because of the spawns that came after
