Chanel Beauty Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Color Review

Chanel has produced plenty of lipsticks since they founded their beauty division, but few of them can truly rival the Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Color, which has quickly become one of the brand’s premiere lip products. This liquid lipstick is encased in a weighty, luxurious-feeling frosted glass packaging with the brand’s logo cleanly showcased at the top of the tube. The first noticeable thing about this formula is how striking the pigmentation is, no matter which shade you get. The color is always rich, opaque, and gives lips fantastic coverage. It goes on very smoothly (unlike other matte liquid lipstick formulas out there), and once it dries down, you know it’s a matte finish, but it’s also very gentle, removing the possibility of any possible cakiness on your lips down the line. Best of all—even better than the rich coloration and the comfortable matte finish—is that it’s absolutely, without a doubt, meant to be long-wearing, able to withstand even heavy meals. Of course, at $38.00, this is most definitely luxury-priced (for lipstick, that is) but the formula itself does have one problematic quality: the drying and setting time. See, unlike other (more drying) liquid lipsticks that set in under five minutes, this’ll take roughly ten or so minutes to fully dry and actual prevent transferring. But if that’s something you can live with (we certainly can), this liquid lipstick totally blew us away otherwise, and it’ll sure be a great staple for many people’s makeup kits.
