During the Spring/Summer ’19 show, Slimane debuted the C Bag, a structured bag made with shiny calfskin and lined with lambskin. On the front of the flap stands a brass C on a clip closure which opens up to an accordion compartment. It is divided into three parts, two open sections and one zipped section, which provides ample storage and added security. At the top of the bag, a chain and leather strap is strewn through four metal eyelets, two on each side, that allows the straps to be worn as either a shoulder style or a cross body type. All of these, plus its classic silhouette proves the C bag perfect for everyday use.
One qualm though may be that the brass clasp looks a little difficult to maneuver if one is in a rush. You’ll have to match the hole to the peg when closing the flap and because the clip juts out a little, the hardware may be prone to a lot of scratching and denting. Aside from that, the C bag seems like a great start to Slimane’s takeover of Celine and would add a hint of 70’s elegance to any modern day outfit.
