We’re not going to lie, we thought Byblos‘s newest collection was a bit much. No, too much, actually! As soon as the second look walked down the runway—a big orange fur coat, almost muppet-like in its furry finish—we were that we were in cartoon territory for Fall 2019. Everything was oversaturated, exaggerated, and a little bit too animated to a rather overwhelming degree. And when the space-age suits came into the scene, we essentially gave up. It was all too much, and oftentimes in fashion. that’s a welcome resort. But not, however, when there wasn’t any cohesion. The narrative didn’t show through either, it was all just a colorful exaggerated mess. A kind of mess that we preferred not to have seen at all. We hope he does a lot better next season instead!
