Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer, famed designer Riccardo Tisci, debuted the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection to much fanfare. Lauded as a welcome reimagining and reinvention of the household brand, Tisci has so far succeeded in making Burberry relevant in the contemporary market without compromising the brand’s immensely rich history. No other piece in the collection is as blatant and direct about this as the Two-tone Leather TB Bag.
Those familiar with Burberry’s heritage can easily decipher the meaning behind its name (and that eye-catching monogram clasp). TB is a reference to Thomas Burberry, the founder and namesake of the fashion house. Of course, not any piece can be deemed worthy enough to possess the initials of this iconic individual which is a testament to the TB Bag’s unique and beautiful design. The Italian-made bag features a calf leather exterior in two colors: Honey for the fold over top and Black for the basket. This color selection is a nice callback to its signature plaid that was used masterfully across different pieces in the same SS19 collection the bag launched in. Its interior’s two compartments is lined with lambskin which is ideal when housing your phone, wallet, and other daily necessities.
The bag comes in 2 sizes but we’re most fond of the smaller iteration because of its inherent flexibility. The TB Bag comes with a detachable and adjustable leather cross body strap that allows for it to be worn on the shoulder, across your torso, or carried as a clutch. Now available at $2,190.
