Newly-appointed creative director Daniel Lee has changed the aesthetic of Bottega Veneta for their Fall 2019 collection. What used to be a house of high-class luxury and old-school elegance is now that of a sleek and slick minimalist in the vein of Phoebe Philo‘s Celine. In fact, Lee did work under Philo during her tremendous tenure at the famous Parisian house. But is the same style? Definitely not! Firstly, Lee packed in a lot of luxury in incorporating the house’s iconic crafts into the clothes themselves. Each ensemble was cut to perfection and tailored so precisely that they looked intimidating. The looks this season were also a lot more streamlined, evoking a modern edginess that’s new and surprising to come from such a classic brand. In essence, this was the house’s youngest outing to date, but will it pique the interest of new young customers and maintain the fascination of their faithful mature clientele? Only time can tell!
