Despite its contemporary edge, Bode is a designer brand devoted to old-school techniques and celebrate vintage style. For Fall 2019, she collaborated with Todd Alden, a New York City gallerist and collector of all things vintage. With his definitive eye for nostalgia, Bode created a street-wise collection that takes on the nonchalant style of the present with the charm and decoration of the past. It’s easy to spot the bottle caps taken from the likes of the 1950s and 1960s, the bohemian knits of the 1970s, and the electric colorways of the 1980s. Apart from the aforementioned knits, handicrafts were ever more present in the beautiful patchwork suits, both in the striped and checkered varieties. They further evoke both the vintage style and an indelible handmade touch that Bode has so beautifully mastered in the few years she’s been in the menswear game. There’s no denying that she’s one to look out for in the coming seasons!
