Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer Review
Product Description
The Intensive Skin Serum Concealer could be a fantastic product for small brightening jobs on the face, but is ultimately turns out to be kind of a dud. While the brightening coverage on this product is quite great and the matte finish is good, the missteps of this product drag it down. There are quite a few problems that make this concealer uncomfortable to wear. It’s very harsh and drying on the skin, even before powdering, and it creases and breaks way too easily to make it a dependable product. In our opinion, for everything that can go wrong with this product, it’s probably best to just avoid it altogether.

For a product that has the word “serum” in its name, the Intensive Skin Serum Concealer from Bobbi Brown doesn’t seem like it has any discernible properties that help care for the skin.

As a concealer, this is meant specifically for brightening dark spots, especially in the undereye area, and in that respect, it succeeds. The coverage of the product is definitely good enough to hide dark spots and even select blemishes where sometimes foundation may not be enough. The product also sports a matte finish that aids in smoothing out rough spots on the skin.

But besides its finish, the formula of this concealer is not all that great. One of the more surprising things about this concealer is how drying it can feel despite supposedly being a “serum.” The dryness generally makes it uncomfortable to wear in the regions of the face where it’s meant to be applied. The concealer also creases very easily—sometimes right after applying, making it a not-so-reliable concealer. It also tends to wear off very quickly, which is another huge point against this concealer.

So no, we cannot, in good conscience, get behind this product and recommend it. For all its strong suits, the formula also gets a lot wrong, which makes it less an asset and more a liability down the line.

SUITABLE FOR: Normal to oily skin types.
