It’s easy to brush off Beaufille‘s collections as “borrowed from the boys,” seeing as it has long played with masculine tropes. But make no mistake, Chloe and Parris Gordon are proving that their signature aesthetic has always been feminine, just an incredibly strong one at that. Their latest Fall 2019 collection stands testament to such—an exceptionally chic offering of dynamic silhouettes, luxurious fabrications, and subtle hints of old-school feminine glamour. This isn’t a minimal collection, per se, but the simplicity here is quite astounding and so refined. Take for instance a black satin A-line coat paired with equally dark-toned trousers. It shimmered just right for the daytime piece that it is, but the shape is so distinct that even with its somber hue, it’ll still catch a few eyes on the street. As will a stunning cream-colored zebra-print dress with all its fierce floatiness. With such exceptional daywear, however, it’s a bit of a shame that the evening-wear didn’t match up. The lace pieces are modern and sexy but did little to equal the impact of the more everyday items. At least, come fall, the Beaufill woman will look incredible no matter what time of day!
