Before he became the celebrated genius, Alexander McQueen worked at Savile Row where he learned how to do tailoring. Throughout his career, tailoring was a huge part of his massive appeal, and for his brand’s spring 2019 menswear collection, creative director Sarah Burton chose to highlight that part of the designer’s life and work. Well-cut and divinely-constructed, this new offering put forth an exceptional wardrobe fit for a king. The two-toned looks were specific standouts, harkening back to McQueen’s astounding expert skills when he mixed two different textiles together to make one look. Despite its masculine bearing, there was also a romanticism there—one that is completely entrenched in the label’s DNA. While we may never see Prince William or Prince Harry donning any of this, it will sure look fitting on men of their caliber!
