Sneakers are often described with many words but rarely does the word ‘regal’ apply, except for the new “Purple Velvet” Matchcourt High RX sneakers. The royal hue mixed with the luxurious fabric brings about an air of prestige and unmatched elegance that Adidas nor other brands in the sportswear market have ever seen. The gilded logo on the shoes’ tongue adds more to the regality of the pair. Accented with white stripes and midsole, the pair is a feast for the eyes and will truly be eye-catching even while the wearer is skateboarding.
Cons
Velvet is a material often used for evening wear, which is a far cry from the nitty and gritty culture of sneakerheads. The material is as precious as precious can be, often difficult to wash and maintain. With its luxurious velvet upper, the new Matchcourt High RX sneakers are also quite challenging to wash over and over while avoiding damage. And since the pair is marketed to be skateboarding shoes, it makes owning it that much more difficult.
