Tribalism is a hot topic nowadays, especially in the world of politics. But in the arena of fashion, it’s a starting point for a collection that seems to suggest the possibility of the world belonging to one tribe. At least, that’ what Abdul Abasi and Greg Rosborough wanted to convey for their brand’s Spring 2019 menswear collection. Entitled the “Desert Phantom” this dark-hued tribe consists of various references from East to West, all converged together with a whole host of crafts and techniques. Some of the outerwear, for example, were almost akin to the kimono robes of brave Japanese warriors. While the expert draping in stark white and burnt orange hues gave reverence to the African communities that still live in the continent. Other-worldly yet global was the main idea of this collection, and with such beauty did Abasi Rosborough execute it so well.
