Kiton is known for their extreme sophistication and precise tailoring, but for Fall 2019, they’re going about a more youthful route. In fact, it’s safe to say that their latest collection is a hybrid of mature sensibilities with an easy approach that’s bound to lure in younger customers, without, however, sacrificing their indelible quality. This season, Maria Giovanna Paone looked to the past in order to touch on the nostalgia fever that many of today’s fashionable youth have going on at present, getting inspiration from her own mother’s 50s wardrobe and reinterpreting them for today’s contemporary tastes. A gray streamlined trench coat, for instance, was cut just a little above the knee for that fresh tinge of sexiness, but still had a fur trim for that old-school chicness. Boucle suits were made slightly rounder and mini, with matching thigh-high boots for that slight 90s edge. Modernity came ravaging through with refined takes on tracksuits paired with Kiton’s signature tailored pieces—a more magnified vision of the brand’s contemporary revolution. But the suiting continued on, one chicer than the next, with a variation in all white beautifully offset by black buttons, and another in grey checks that looked perfect for business. It looks like Kiton will now be a brand for women of all ages and what a stunning world that would look like!
