1881 Pour Femme by Cerruti Review
There’s no mistaking that Cerruti’s 1881 Pour Femme is a pretty floral scent. Now considered a classic, it teases us with well-blended florals that is hard to distinguish from one another and also comes off as clean and soapy. The woodsy notes do little to affect its strength, which is not much to begin with anyway. There is no undermining its wear time, however—1881 lasts for eight hours or more and the skin, especially in chillier seasons.
We think it is very light, timid even, and intimate
Pretty blend of florals
Best performs in colder weather, but staying power is also excellent otherwise
Does not have much of a transition
Is not one for creating a strong impact
Save Big At:
Nino Cerruti and his eponymous house’s reputation for classic fragrances is continued in the 1995 release for women, 1881 Pour Femme. Created by Claire Cain, it features notes of freesia, mimosa, blond woods, and bergamot in the beginning, and then rosewood, jasmine, orange flower, coriander, chamomile, geranium, sandalwood, musk and ambrette later on as 1881 develops. The bottle is memorable itself with its marble-like exterior, designed by Serge Mansau.
