Pros

You most certainly don’t remember if a Rolex watch disappoints because most probably it doesn’t. The Rolex GMT-Master II has had many versions over the years and its latest, the one in stainless steel, didn’t fail to wow anticipators. Upgrading the 2014 white gold GMT with Cerachrome two-tone (red and blue) bidirectional bezel, the 2018 version boasts the same “Pepsi” color but with a brand new Jubilee bracelet, 904L stainless steel, and enhanced caliber—the 3285, which offer a 15% gain in efficiency.

The travel-time watch has a black dial eclipsed with a scratch-resistant sapphire. The dual colored bezel is engraved with 24-hour numerals and graduations, and the hands tell the local hour, minute, and seconds. Built for travel, the red GMT hand can be synchronized with the bezel to represent home time. This model features a huge 70-hour power reserve and water resistance of up to 300 meters.

Cons

While innovation delivers more precise time telling, a side by side comparison with an older, 1986 version, makes it seems like nothing has changed in the design of the Rolex GMT-Master II. The “Pepsi” color scheme can also be a hit or miss for people who want a more muted look. Moreover, it branded itself as a travel watch but it didn’t take into consideration countries that are not full hours away from home.
