Some people buy kicks to look good (i.e. up their outfit game), some people buy kicks to live in them (i.e. use them on a daily basis), and some people buy kicks to add more beauty to their collection. What if you have all these three—style, comfort, and awesome design— in one pair of sneakers?

Why, yes, that’s possible with the Nike Air Huarache.

Release Year: 1991

Originally designed by Tinker Harfiled, the Nike Air Huarache is quite famously considered as one of the most comfortable kicks out there. The model first debuted in 1991 as running shoes, but due to its massive following, it later on evolved into basketball and then cross-training sneakers. The Air Huarache is lightweight, with an exoskeleton that molds according to the shape of the foot and ankle, enabling its 1992 tagline, “Have you hugged your foot today?” to resonate effortlessly to the audience.

Pros

Both popular with men and women, the Nike Air Huarache fits your feet like a glove with guaranteed pillow-soft interior. If comfort is your number one requirement when buying sneakers, then you are 100% getting just that with this model’s soft, durable, and flexible neoprene material that gives you a sock-like fit.

Following on its best feature of providing customizable and individual coziness, the Air Huarache has a dual-lacing system which you can use to tighten or loosen the fit, and the soles are made from foam for best cushioning. In terms of branding, it has an Air Huarache patch on the tongue, and a less imposing brand name on the ankle and back heels.

Cons

Too much branding may come off as tacky at times, Nike has a very popular branding that one would be proud to show off. In the case of this pair, though, the minimal branding can be a turn off for some, as the Nike Air Huarache lacks the well-known Nike swoosh found on most of the brand’s sneakers. Some of the colorways may also be a bit over the top, if simplicity is what you’re after. However, the Air Huarache comes in one-color variations, letting the different materials excellently put together speak for its trademark design.
