It takes a lot for a piece to be effortless. Similarly to how every seam in a dress makes it look like it’s just one piece, luxury watched have to be effortlessly valuable nowadays. Even though there are some brands that strive in showing off the timepiece’s complications and complexities, others excel in offering simple yet stunning works. One doesn’t have to see or feel the weight of all the hard work put into a luxury watch, and one won’t with Graham’s Chronofighter Superlight Carbon watch.

Release date: March 2016
Price when reviewed: $9,949

It’s been two years since the British brand released this one-of-a-kind timepiece, but it is still making waves in the industry today. The Chronofighter Superlight Carbon watch was one of the many stand-outs during Baselworld 2016, which was held during March of that year. To this day, the watch continues to be a hot topic among haute horology critics, enthusiasts, and collectors alike. Each piece costs about $9,949.

Specifications:

  • Diameter: 47mm
  • Movement: Automatic
  • Water Resistant: 100 meters
  • Power Reserve: 48 hours
  • Frequency: 28,800 vph
  • Strap: Integrated rubber strap
  • Buckle: Pin buckle

Pros

Graham’s Chronofighter Superlight Carbon watch is a marvel in its own right. With a hefty 47 millimeter case, piled with loads of technological advancements and innovations, the watch still stays true to its name. It’s a surprisingly light timepiece considering its massive diameter, making it a stunning piece of machinery. Furthermore, the watch is also offered in a number of colorways, such as neon shades of cobalt blue and lemon yellow, for a more stylized appeal.

Cons

Despite the eye-popping colorways, the watch doesn’t have that much design value. The timepiece looks like you ordinary sports watch, evoking almost none of the luxurious glamour that the brand is known for. Some may even find its dial borderline cartoon-ish with its large Arabic numerals and contrasting-colored chronograph hands. When it comes to watch innovation, Graham’s Chronofighter Superlight Carbon watch has a lot, but when it comes to sophisticated design, it certainly lacks some of it.
