There is no doubting Breitling’s reputation as a top grade watchmaker. Besides its long history that all began in Grenchen in 1884 to the brand establishing itself as the preferred watch provider of aviators around the world, Breitling has captivated the attention of many watch enthusiasts. It is very much deserved, especially when taking into consideration how the watchmaking company aims to ensure high precision and accuracy while also providing users with more functions for their money’s worth. And that is beyond just a simple claim—Breitling watches are all COSC certified and categorized as chronometers, regardless of the movement. Its Chronomat 41 is among the most exemplary of its releases, operating with the much-lauded Breitling Caliber 01.

Pros

Since its launch, the Chronomat 41 has already been an elegant timepiece, but recent tweaks to the watch have resulted in a more refined appearance. Despite being marketed as a sports watch just as other Breitling offerings have been, the Chronomat 41 can also be shown off with a tie and a suit, owing to its not-too-flashy appearance. The choice of colors for the brand is also worth noting as the dial has become more readable than its previous iterations, especially with the onyx black dial. If scratching is a constant concern when wearing watches, Breitling has a great solution with the Chronomat 41—you can deal easily with scratches simply by polishing the watch, not to mention its sapphire crystal case. Interested in seeing the wonder that is the the self-winding Breitling Caliber 01? Just flip the watch over and witness the ticking mechanism behind the caseback, a feature not so often employed in other Breitling watches.

Cons

The price is always a setback with a Breitling, but of course, you get what you pay for—a courtly watch with premium features. The limited edition Chronomat 41s in onyx black are also released by Breitling in only 2000 pieces, making them hard to come by.
