Resort is all about creating the perfect wardrobe for those exotic summer getaways. Even those brands whose signature style is far from this aesthetic, designers can’t help but touch upon this market for this particular season. Designers like Phillip Lim of 3.1 Phillip Lim have recently stepped up to this plate. Usually, his brand consists of urban chic women whose clothes act as armor to face the city head-on. But for Resort 2019, the collection is called the “The Accidental Tourist,” complete with floppy hats, mini leather bags, and knee-high socks worn with sandals. At first. one would think there is a lot of fashion faux pas in “tourist-dressing,” but the New York label put in a sexy 70s spin to make it a lot more fashionable. The pants are flared just right, the shorts are sexily mini, and the floral prints are as psychedelic as ever. This tourist may be accidental, but she sure is a fashionable one at that!
